Barbara Vercouteren

Barbara Vercouteren Turner

Born 1953. Died 2025 

Turner, Barbara Vercouteren, of Boca Raton, FL died at home on Sunday, May 15, 2005. She was 51. Mrs. Turner, an accounting assistant for the City of Delray Beach, was born in Carona, CA, and moved to Boca Raton from Pompano 22 years ago. She graduated from Pompano Beach High School, Palm Beach Community College and attended the University of Florida. She was active in Girl Scouting for the past 28 years, including five years as the trainer, organizer and program coordinator for the Lucana Neighborhood in the Boca Raton area. Mrs. Turner was a past-president on the state and local levels for the Women’s Auxiliary of the Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Association. She was also the editor of the “Vent-It,” a newsletter for the plumbing and mechanical trade. Her mother, Elizabeth Vercouteren, preceded Mrs. Turner in death. She is survived by her husband, Arthur “Butch” Turner Jr.; two daughters: Stephanie Turner Beaton (Corey) and Shelley Turner; two granddaughters: Krystiana Turner Beaton and Layla Turner; and one grandson: Dyllin Beaton; her parents, Frank and Barbara Vercouteren; one sister, Beverly Turner; one brother: Richard Vercouteren; one stepsister, Vicki Danelutti, and numerous in-laws; nieces; nephews; and cousins. The family will host a “Celebration of Life” on Friday, May 20, at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Center Gymnasium, 50 N.W. 1st Ave., Delray Beach. Please feel free to bring any photos or memories to share. A covered dish meal will follow. Dress is casual. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions to the Barbara Turner Scholarship Fund be made to Girl Scouts of Palm Glades Council, Inc., attn. Janice Louise Baer

Born April 6, 1953.  Died December 31, 2022

Janice Louise Baer Mudd, 69, of Royal Palm Beach, FL. Middle child and only daughter of Chet and Betty Jane Baer was born in Buffalo, NY.  the family moved to Pompano Beach, FL when she was in Jr. High school. She graduated from Pompano Beach High School in 1971.  Janice attended college and later worked at The University of South Florida, Tampa, FL in the school's administration dept.  Throughout her lie, she worked as an office administrator for many companies in Broward and Palm Beach Counties including Carollo engineers, Statewide Grading, and JP Morgan Chase Bank. She was a member of Community of Hope Church in Loxahatchee,, FL and gave financially to St.Jude's Children's Hospital, Operation Smile, The Wounded Warrior Project, and more. She loved gardening, cooking, camping, watching movies, going to Church, sewing, arts and crafts, playing card games, and music. She especially loved Jesus, animals of all kinds, and her grandson. Ms.Mudd is survived by her daughter, Kelly R Wright Christian (Dorian) of Boynton Beach, FL: Grandson Cameron (1), niece, Katie Beach (Bri) of Salem , VA: Great-Nephew Cayden (6) and Great-Niece Riley(3), as well as cousins and their families, friends, and her beloved beagle, Little Man.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Chet and Betty Baer, as well as her two brothers Tim and Peter.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that yu gie to St.Jude's Children Hospital, Operation Smile or The Wounded Warrior Project so they ay continue to bless others.  Services scheduled for sunrise service (TBD) Oceanfront Park in Ocean Ridge, FL Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Jamie Ann Cochran

Born March 1, 1953.  Died March 18, 2019

Ms.Jamie-Ann Cochran, age 66 of Atlanta passed away Monday March 18,2019 following a brief illness.  

Jamie was born March1, 1953 in Crawford County, PA to the late Robert J. Cochran and Virginia Rushlander Cochran.  Jamie was employed as a private Consultant and urban planner having worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation and Florida Department of Trasportation with her career spanning over 40 years. Jamie was a graduate of Florida State University and Harvard University.  Survivors include brother and sister in law Chris and Wansley Cochran of Carrollton and brother Bob Cochran of California, MO, one niece and three nephews.  A scholarship fund will be set up at Georgia Tech in Jamie's memory.  Donations by check payable to the Georgia Tech Foundatin including a note stating to support scholarships in Jamie Cochran's memory, sent to : Ms. Susan Sanders, Director of Development; College of Design; Georgia Institute of Technology; 245 4th St. NW Atlanta, GA   30032-0155.

Sylvia Ann Fulmore

Sylvia Fulmore of Deerfield Beach, Florida passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.

Ralph "Roc" Pridemore Chick

Born October 24, 1953. died October 21, 2021

Roc's son, Cade writes:  "We will be holding a Celebration of Life for my Father on Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at Westside Baptist Church, Gainesville, Florida at 10:00am.  Feel free to show up before.  Afterward, we will bury my Father at Forest Meadows.  As you all know, my father would tell us to celebrate him and watch some Gator Football.  After we lay him to rest, we will hold a party he would be proud of with food and drinks (including plenty of Jager) for all who would like to join at the venue to be determined soon.  Please feel free to message me with any questions.  Even in these awful circumstances, I know we will be able to enjoy each other as we celebrate one of the best men I have ever known!"

Chip North

Carlton E. "Chip" North Jr, 61, of Lighthouse Point passed away Saturday, April 5th,2014. He was born in Providence,RI on August 26 1952 to Carlton E. North Sr. and the late Marjorie A. North. He graduated from Pompano Beach High School in 1971. He was a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines for 12 years. He became a Real Estate Broker in 1987. He was Vice President with Ivan J. Smith and Co. for 26 years. Chip served his community as the former President of the Pompano Beach Exchange Club. Chip was an experienced pilot, boat captain, and professional diver. Chip never met a stranger, when you sat down next to him you were already considered his friend. He is survived by three children; daughter Lauren Wynne North, two sons Brian W. Gill and Aaron M. Gill, former wife Kelly S. Murray, father Carlton E. North Sr., sister Linda J. North, brother Peter R. North, three grand children, a niece and nephews. A celebration of Chip's life will be held this Sunday, April 13th, at 4:00 at Exchange Club Park of Pompano Beach. Please wear bright colors, bring your lawn chairs, your pictures, stories and smiles. Dan Nugent

Born August 22, 1953.   Died October 18, 2001

Nugent, Daniel, 48, died Thursday, Oct. 18th. Dan lived in Boca Raton, FL with his wife Lauren and two daughters Kristina and Kelly. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence and his daughter Kasey. He is survived by his mother Marie Nugent of MI; mother and father-in-law Muriel and Donald Smith of FL; three sisters: Helen (Al) Thomas of MI, Nancy (Jim) Jackson of MI and Gail Shirey of MI; three brothers John (Carol) Nugent of VA, Gerald Nugent of MI and David Nugent of GA, also numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Daniel Nugent formerly played for the Los Angeles Rams from 1975 to 1980. He retired due to back injuries. Family will receive friends Sunday, Oct. 21st, 6-8 PM with a Rosary service 7 PM. The funeral mass will be held at Saint Colemans Catholic Church, 12 PM, Monday, Oct. 22, with interment to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery North. Lee Edgar Freels Jr., 56, died Nov. 6, 2008, at his home. He lived in Port St. Lucie for the past two years, coming from Delray Beach. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Cindy Freels of Port St. Lucie; sons, Lee E. Freels III and John Freels; daughters, Angel Golberger and Heather Freels; brother, Steve Freels; sisters, Jean Craft, Sharon Freels and Cynthia Smith; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Irene Freels.
