Janis Bolk Carroll age 46, Pompano Beach, died Monday, September 27, 1999. She is survived by husband Marc F. Carroll; son, Evan Christopher Carroll of Pompano Beach; mother, Mary E. Bolk of Oakland Park; sister, Linda E. Simpson (James) and, Barbara B. Cogdill (Daniel), all of Pompano Beach, and many nieces and nephews.

Rebecca Burris-Meeka

December 9, 1953.  Died November 16, 2003

Becky Burris Meeka age 49 of Pompano Beach, FL passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2003. The daughter of Kathryn Burris Starling and the late Bob Burris of Pompano Beach, FL.   A native of Pompano Beach. She graduated from FSU School of Music. She brought the gift and love of music to thousands of children in Broward County through her teaching music at Pine Crest Preparatory School and Christ Church School. She is survived by her husband. Michael J.F. Meeka; her son Johnathan Robert Meeka; her mother, Kathryn Starling; two sisters, Brenda Baker-Brooks (Randy) and Susan Burris Woods (Randy).

Raymond Cannady

September 6, 1953.  Died November 3, 2018 

Raymond Cannady Jr. passed away November 3rd at the age of 65. Raymond was preceded in death by his father Raymond Cannady Sr. He is survived by his mother Mitzy Cannady, his brother Lee Cannady, sister in law Jennifer, niece Sarah, and nephew Palmer. He will be forever remembered by his many close friends and former wife Karen Cannady. Born in Miami, raised in Deerfield Beach, Raymond attended Pompano Beach High School, Oxford at Emory and graduated from Emory University in 1975. A history major, Raymond continued his passion for learning about the civil war and had an extensive library of books on the subject. He loved to scuba dive, travel and could strike up a conversation with anyone. Raymond enjoyed watching his favorite football teams the Miami Dolphins and the Atlanta Falcons. He was technically savvy with a 20+ year career at Bellsouth. As a realtor he bought and sold numerous properties in Florida. He loved being near the water and was truly at home on the ocean. Plans for a celebration of life to follow. May the winds be always at your back and may the whispers of angels fill the jib and the main.
